HI There, I’m very excited to have come across your web site. I am looking at getting a GMC Day van for long and short surf trips. Age of vehicle undecided but would love to test drive and look around at what you have at the moment to get an idea of what exactly i would be wanting to buy… Where are you situated?

Hi Jon,

Great site! I’m very happy I’ver come across your details. I am in the market now for a chevy G20 or Dodge Ram Van and can’t find much for sale in the UK. I’ve taked to American car importers who don’t seem to want to help. I’m quite open to colour etc and open to all sorts!

Many thanks.

Al

Hi Jon, I’m looking into buying a late 90’s astro converstion (eg. starcraft).
I wondered if you could give me some details on shipping prices and exchange rate, and perhaps, the total it would cost me in England including import tax custom fees and VAT?

Many thanks,

Les :)

Hi, I have been looking at a couple of american vans on ebay recently and have just come across your site – any information on importing something like the GMC starcraft with an lpg conversion would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Rich

I’m after a G20 day van. I was hoping you can help.
Best Regards

well i had a day van it looked cool but parts are expensive and the insurance is expensive as they all have big engines, most are petrol and we know how expensive that is, well if you buy a day van make sure its got a gas convertion and make sure the tv is pal or it wont work here.

Jon @ SupercamperApril 13th, 2010 at 22:26

Please fill out the import service form at http://www.supercamper.co.uk/jap-camper-import-blog/import-service-form

Then fill in your details and also what type of vehicle you want us to source for you and as much additional information as possible.

And to the original question, yes we can import G20 vans for you, but we would have to get them converted to LPG here in the UK. We can get this done for 1600 pounds.

Regards,

Jon @ Supercamper

Jon Clayton (SUPERCAMPER!)April 13th, 2010 at 22:51

No American or Japanese van will have a PAL TV because their system is NTSC.

No American or Japanese van will come with an LPG conversion fitted, as it is pretty non existent over there and petrol is a lot cheaper that here in the UK.

We can however arrange to get this fitted in the UK, the price for a V6 astro is 1400 and a V8 G20 would be 1600.

Jon Clayton (SUPERCAMPER!)May 2nd, 2010 at 18:55

Hi Cliff,

We have just purchased an Astro day van for a customer. And we have imported quite a few to date.

However, being American vans they are all LHD.

Only the Japanese stuff is RHD.

Many thanks,

Jon.

I have Chevy G20 Conversion. 1994 but only 53,000 original miles. It was a concept car, one of a kind, all leather interior, including queen sized plush leather bed. $2800.00.

Hi, I am keen to find out more about your imports, I work in the movie industrie and spend a lot of time away from home. I do have a van at the moment but am considering an up grade in the next few months. Any guidance would be great. The GMC starcraft looks perfect.

kevin mcparlandSeptember 2nd, 2010 at 21:27

hi, i have a 1985 g20 dayvan. looks like i have lost the keys. do you have any idea where i can source a new ignition barrel and door locks for such a van

Jon Clayton (SUPERCAMPER!)September 2nd, 2010 at 21:33

Hi Kevin,

I’m not too sure. I would say the best place to ask that sort of question would be a forum. Not sure if there are any G20 forums in the UK, however there is a chevy Astro forum called “astrosafari.co.uk”

I would say that someone on there should have an idea of who to contact to find new keys and a barrel.

Many thanks,

Jon.
